Borobudur





Borobudur is the name of a Buddhist temple located at Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java. The location of the temple is approximately 100 km southwest of Hyderabad and 40 km northwest of Yogyakarta. This temple was founded by the followers of Mahayana Buddhism around the year 800 AD during the reign of the dynasty dynasty. In the ethnic Chinese, this temple is also called 婆罗 浮屠 (Hanyu Pinyin: po luo fu tu) in Mandarin.  


Borobudur Temple is one of the largest Buddhist monument in the world and is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage. On the wall was carved reliefs of Borobudur temple containing the Buddha's teachings along the 6 km! It is touted as the ensemble of Buddhist reliefs of the largest and most comprehensive in the world, unsurpassed in artistic value, every scene is a masterpiece that intact


Near the temple of Borobudur temple there are 2 others, namely Mendut and Pawon. The third temple was built in the same period and is located in one straight line. Mendut known for having large Buddha statues and reliefs that contains animal stories / fable. Pawon located between Mendut and Borobudur Temple.


There we can enjoy the sun rising in the eastern horizon as the opening day activities will be an unforgettable experience. There are two interesting spots that can be used as a place to see the Borobudur Sunrise. The first one is standing on top of the temple and you will feel the stillness of the morning in the grandeur of the temple. While the second spot at the top of Mount Punthuk Setumbu. For closing days, we can stand on the temple with stupa lined and enjoy the romantic atmosphere of dusk. Dim light that slowly fade away and change the color of the sun will give the effect of calm and peace for anyone who saw it.

Explore Village
Borobudur area surrounded by rural areas that are still beautiful and has a fresh air. In addition, each village has its own uniqueness and charm tour. we can visit the Klipoh Village to learn to make pottery or visit the
Jowahan Village to see the ancient Javanese house that has been aged for more than a century. To visit these villages we can walk, ride a bike, or ride carriage. 

Elephant Safari
Bored with the usual adventure? What if we explore the villages, fields, and rivers, riding an elephant (elephant safari)? It is very interesting, is not it? While sitting in the back of an elephant, you can see the activities of rural people directly and enjoy the fresh air.
 

Ride Trackless train
For families with small children, go around the Borobudur temple while walking, of course, would be a very tiring journey. But there's nothing to worry about, around the temple on the train rabbits (trackless train) can be used as an attractive alternative. Usually the kids will really like this.
